Northern France’s mining heritage: Eurotunnel

Talk to anyone in the French départements of Nord or Pas-de-Calais and they’ll tell you how entrenched mining heritage still is in local society, just as it is in South Wales or northern England. In a spirit of regeneration, many of the sites associated with mining in northern France have been so well conserved they’re now collectively Unesco-listed. I nipped over the Channel to take a look and reported my findings for Eurotunnel. Read it here.
