The museum that asks you to take your shoes off: Dutch the Magazine

At Voorlinden contemporary art museum, over in a smart suburb of The Hague, a mysterious energy invites visitors to immerse themselves in deep contemplation. It could be down to the overwhelming feeling of air and light – not many museums can boast this kind of backdrop in nature after all. Or maybe it’s the carefully limited curation – the fewer the artworks the more you pause to study them, right? But there’s one more trick up Voorlinden’s sleeve that’s helping culture vultures to connect with art on a deeper level… and that’s asking visitors to take off their shoes. I wrote about it for Dutch The Magazine.
