French to English transcreation: an example

Here’s an example of a translation I worked on for Hauts-de-France Tourisme in which I took two approaches. For the sections ‘Présentation’, ‘Services’, ‘Tarif’, and ‘Bonnes Adresses’ I applied a strict word-for-word translation. For the body copy, I took the key points from the source text and reworked them into copy that would sound more natural for Anglophone readers, with additional information they might find relevant. Compare the source text in French to the version in English.
